Survivor: Samoa - Mike Evacuated & Betsy Voted off (7-1)

I have decided to blog the TAR/Survivor episodes on Monday’s together, because it’s even easier on me. OK, so starting off this episode Russell H. confronts Betsy about voting for Ashley instead of Marisa. This put Mike and Betsy on the outs for two reasons: 1. They voted for Ashley and 2. They are the two oldest. Meanwhile, on Galu tribe, Yasmin is complaining about the living conditions of the tribe, claiming that “the woods ain’t the hood” and that the hood is apparently a better place to dwell in. Meanwhile, back at Foa Foa, Russell H. begins reminiscing Survivor’s addition to the game, the idols where, without even getting the first clue, Russell H. finds the first idol. He shares this with Jaison, but has no intentions of really sharing that idol.

Next, we go to the reward/immunity challenge where the Survivor played a rugby type game where they had to wrestle each other for balls to pass to tribe members to shoot into a basket. The first tribe to three points would win fishing supplies and immunity. Things got really heated when Ben was disqualified from the challenge for aggressive conduct. This happened directly after Jeff Probst issued a warning regarding the aggressive game play being presented. In which, if you ask me, I think it’s about time they slow down with their physically conducting challenges. It was Laura, who I believe scored two points for her tribe, including the winning point which led Galu to another immunity. In a twist, the leader of Galu, Russell S. got to send one tribe member over to Foa Foa who observes tribal council. He sent Yasmin.

After the immunity challenge, the Foa-Foa tribe stayed after to have the medical team check on Mike, who was apparently very ill. Mike’s blood pressure was made very risky to keep him in the game, and as he fell trying to stand up, he got back up, and was removed from the game. Over at the Galu tribe, we see Shambo as she has gone fishing. She then returns with good news and bad news. The bad news: she lots o\some of the fishing supplies. The Good news: There’s fish in the ocean! Laura recalls it in a confessional. This probably left Shambo to negative vibes from her tribe. Meanwhile, back at the Foa-Foa tribe, Yasmin babbles about how much the Foa-Foa tribe sucks, and it’s like taking candy from a baby, confronts Ben, a dude, about him being aggressive to Yasmin, a woman. Ben and Yasmin completely go off on each other, an Ben calls her “Ghetto trash”.

It was now time for the Foa-Foa tribe to figure out who to vote for. Betsy approaches the women, Liz, Natalie, and Ashley about voting for Ben, since for 1. He was disqualified from the challenge. 2. He annoyed everyone by staying up all night chopping wood. 3. Going off on Yasmin. I really wonder if Yasmin could’ve influenced the vote to get Ben off. If she really wanted Ben off, she could’ve teamed up with Betsy, work on the other girls, and maybe make a deal with Mick, such as sharing idol information with him. Oh well, I guess I’m just smarter than some of these people. I’m just saying, if you’re put on another tribe but can’t go home, work with them, try to do something. So, at tribal council, Ben and Betsy were on the bubble, but Betsy failed to come up with the amount of numbers to take Ben out, and Russell, who executed Betsy’s goodbye, got his wish, and she was voted off.

This episode was very much like the first episode, we saw a whole lot of few players (Betsy, Russell H, Jaison, Yasmin, Ben) and we saw something from the Foa-Foa tribe where we saw what, just Shambo and a bit of Laura from Galu. Where did everyone else go? I really feel the next to go will be either Shambo, who’s on the outs of her tribe or Ashley, who is next on Russell’s hit list. Just like the previews said, I could see Jaison attempting to turn on Russell H, but it would be totally disappointing to see Jaison get burned for it. I’m not sure where Yasmin stands with her own tribe, but there’s a small chance of her ever rekindling with Foa-Foa.
